It seems there is a metamorphosis occurring in our society.
More and more people are realizing that they have become pawns to the news cycle, and consequently, to the propaganda and manipulation that happens at that level.
I see numerous people looking around and making the decision that they are no longer going to participate in that. It is becoming clear that the whole news cycle is geared to manipulate us, like herding cattle.
News stories are positioned such that they are neatly tucked into the Overton windows of acceptable discourse, and hiding and placing out of reach the real issues that should be the ones we are discussing.
A definite chasm has developed. Those who follow the news and those who are making themselves immune to the coercion of controlling perception.
Even the well-meaning ones who dispute the news stories become complicit. By disputing the stories, they establish greater reach for the stories, and set the oppositional end of the Overton window. Unfortunately, these folks are simply repeating and spreading propaganda.
Anytime we repeat these stories, even in opposition, we are playing a part.
Controlled opposition…
I believe a better choice than opposing the stories is ignoring them. If we really had the power to change things by supporting or opposing current topics, then everything would be on the table for discussion. That is clearly not the case.
What I’m seeing is something extraordinary - a real movement away from this long-standing paradigm of control. People are beginning to see that the vast majority of it has absolutely nothing to do with them.
Nothing. to. do. with. them.
The people in the stories aren’t in our house, rifling our drawers, raiding our fridge, eating our bon-bons. If you find they are, then by all means you should be discussing it.
Otherwise, by not remaining neutral, taking sides, and offering our opinions, we simply further feed the machine.
This year, 2025, I think there will be a real movement away from this cycle.
I’m really sensing this. Are you?
There was a wicked messenger from Eli, he did come
With a mind that multiplied the smallest matter
When questioned who had sent for him, he answered with his thumb
For his tongue, it could not speak but only flatter
He stayed behind the assembly hall, it was there he made his bed
Oftentimes he could be seen returning
Until one day he just appeared with a note in his hand which read
"The soles of my feet, I swear they're burning"
Oh, the leaves began to falling and the seas began to part
And the people that confronted him were many
And he was told but these few words, which opened up his heart
"If you cannot bring good news, then don't bring any"
I've recently dumped a bunch of people that I was following because of similar reasons.

It's not that I'm ignoring the reality of the situation, but the constant repetition of the same bullshit does nothing to help me learn. I think it is why many have dug themselves into illogical conclusions that see the future as doomed.
Many of them joined the cult of nostalgia, thinking that going back to the "glory days" would fix things.
